Hey does anyone on this board remember the ninja turtle games for the nes? I didn't like the first one but the other 2 were sweet

I knew they existed, but I never played them.
How playable are they by a totally blind person? There's a used games store in my area where I could probably snag one, if I could find it, and my sister still has a NES that works.

The popular oppinion is the first game is horrible and the next two are great, especially the second one. I wouldn't consider the first one playable by anyone totally blind. Even sighted people have trouble with its various odities. The second and third however are side-scrolling beat-em-ups which you can move forward and backward, up and down. So depending on your ability it's probably possible. There is an audio indication when all the enimies on screen have been nutralized and you need to move forward.

Yes i agree with poster number 2 the first one really sucks but the other 2 are playable and if you can get your hands on a game jeenie you can beat them both.

Cool, thanks.

Actually there's no audio indication when allthe enemies are gone. It's the Double Dragon games that do that. I know because I own all three Ninja Turtles games. The first game is brutaly unfair in terms of difficulty.

Really, could of swarn I recall April waving her pixelated 80s eye candy with some audio indicator. it has been many years though. In any case, if nothing's attacking, go to the right.:)

Maybe in games on other platforms but not the ones on the NES. There might indeed have been a visual cue but not an audible one. As for meI'm not sure which of the two latter games I liked better since both were pretty awesome.

Ya that's a hard one as far as what games were cooler but I kind of liked the third one better it just had better music and stuff.

I thought the second one had better music overall, especially Shredder's battle theme.

That may be the Snes version you're thinking of where she does that. I've
never played the new versions, but the snes version I remember, there's some
move she does, that you just described then she goes "Ha!" and the game
makes this loud sound when her opponent goes down.

There are a couple of audio cues in the second game, but they're very specific, and only in the first level I believe. Little sounds where I think gates drop or some such. It's hard to describe, but has nothing to do with April.
Generally though, there are no sounds to determine if you've killed everyone on screen, and the enemies are largely silent. The second game, in particular, is sort of playable, but you'll mostly end up button-mashing and hoping for the best.
